At Deelightfully Gluten-Free, we're more than just a bakery. We're a passion project that was born out of necessity and a desire to help others. Our founder, DeAnna, and her daughter were both diagnosed with celiac disease in 2000. After years of struggling with symptoms and frequent ER visits, they finally figured out what was wrong. Taking gluten out of their diet gave DeAnna's daughter a better quality of life and stopped her from getting sick. But as an 8-year-old picky eater, finding gluten-free options that tasted good was a challenge.

In 2000, when they were first diagnosed, there weren't many gluten-free products on the market. What was available was considered special order, very expensive, and not all that great when it came to taste and texture. DeAnna saw an opportunity to create something great and fulfill a need that companies weren't filling. She always wanted to be a baker, but now she had a reason to pursue that dream. She just had to figure out ways to allow them to enjoy food that normally wasn't available to those who suffer from celiac disease, and to make sure they were 100% celiac safe.

Figuring out how to bake gluten-free is not an easy task. Converting normal recipes can be difficult. So, DeAnna started experimenting with recipes and after many years and many failed attempts, her family faithfully suffered through and tried each one. She finally perfected her recipes using her own blend of flour that she found works best for baking. She's always tweaking them and trying new things, but she knows what she's doing now and is confident in her abilities and recipes.

In 2017, DeAnna decided to prove to herself and her family that she had a good concept. She opened her own fully licensed cottage food home bakery and started doing vendor events each weekend to sell her baked goods. And people loved them! The feedback she got from her customers was and still is great. She even has return customers. This was such an exciting realization for her.

With her daughter's help, DeAnna branched out to social media and even created a website. Over the last 5 years, she's worked hard to achieve her dream, reach more people, and create a solid customer base. Her goal to help people enjoy the things they typically missed out on once diagnosed with celiac disease was realized.

Now, DeAnna wants to expand even more. She's looking to open up more opportunities and reach more people! She's working towards opening a physical location so she can sell her baked goods in her own bakery. She created a business plan and did all the research to make sure this was achievable! Now, she's working towards getting the funding she needs to proceed in opening a storefront.

DeAnna's story is a testament to the power of passion. Her love for baking and desire to help others has led her on a journey that has transformed her life and the lives of those around her.
